Children are at risk of choking, serious injury or death if they swallow or place button/coin batteries inside their bodies. Call the Poisons Information Centre immediately on 13 11 26, available 24 hours a day. They can direct you to an appropriate medical facility. Early action can save lives. Do not wait for symptoms to develop.
