Defect

Audi R8 vehicles could have a possible oil leakage in the gearbox breather when the vehicle is being driven on a racetrack and extreme driving manoeuvres are being undertaken.

Hazard

Oil vapour escaping from the gearbox breather can make contact with hot components in the engine compartment. As a result, smoke may be produced and the vehicle could catch fire.

Remedy

Audi Australia Pty Ltd is contacting all known owners of affected vehicles. Consumers should contact their nearest Audi Dealer to arrange for inspection and repair. For any queries or concerns, contact Audi Australia's 24-hour toll free number 1800 50 AUDI (2834).
