Defect

A crack developing in the steering lock housing can cause the steering wheel to lock into the straight ahead position when the key is turned.

Hazard

The steering may not be able to be operated leading to a lack of steerability, increasing the risk of an accident or serious injury or death of vehicle occupants and other road users.

Remedy

Consumers must present the vehicle to the nearest SsangYong Dealer for repair by replacing the steering lock housing assembly. For further information, consumers can contact the nearest SsangYong dealer via https://ssangyong.com.au/dealers or by calling SsangYong Australia on 03 8513 2050.
