Defect

It is possible that individual components of the ABS Control Unit may overheat due to an electrical fault within this unit.

Remedy

Owners are being contacted by mail and are requested to contact an authorised Volkswagen Service Centre to have the ABS Control Unit inspected and if necessary replaced at no charge. Should the ABS warning light illuminate whilst driving, contact a Volkswagen dealer.
