Recall date: 4 May 2023
Due to a manufacturing defect, there is a possibility that the wiring harness retaining bracket on the front drive (R1) axle housing may interfere with the suspension lateral rod in certain severe operating environments. The lateral rod may sustain damage due to frequent impact with the wiring harness boss. In the worst-case scenario, the lateral rod could fail due to this damage, resulting in vehicle instability. This could cause reduced stability while driving and result in a loss of vehicle control.
A loss of vehicle control will increase the risk of an accident which may potentially cause injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.
We strongly recommend that owners/operators contact their local Hino dealer to arrange an appointment to have the harness retaining bracket on the front drive (R1) axle housing relocated. At this time, the lateral rod and/or R1 axle housing will be inspected and replaced, depending on the damage condition.
