Defect

Due to a software issue, the visual and acoustic warning system may not alert the driver if other vehicles and/or traffic are approaching when exiting the vehicle.

Hazard

If the driver is not made aware of approaching vehicles and/or traffic, there is an increased risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.

Remedy

Owners should contact their authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.
