Category: Trailer · Supplier: SHOULDERMASTER PTY LTD
Recall date: 18 December 2024
The tyres within this production range may not meet specifications and could develop cracking, deflation or deformation of the tyre tread. If this occurs, it could lead to a loss of trailer control. The towbar gross capacity of the trailer may not meet specifications. As a result, the trailer could detach from the tow vehicle. The safety chain fitted to the trailer may be underrated for the trailer’s Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM). In the event of the trailer unhitching from the tow vehicle whilst in transit, the safety chain may fail resulting in the trailer becoming detached from the tow vehicle.
A loss of trailer control and/or detachment from the tow vehicle whilst being towed will increase the risk of an accident and serious injury or death to the vehicle occupants and other road users. Trailers are not compliant with ADR 62/00 - Mechanical Connections Between Vehicles.
Owners of affected trailers can contact their preferred authorised ShoulderMaster dealer immediately to have the work carried out, free of charge.
