The in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated following a vehicle start-up cycle.

Light Vehicle

26 Aug 2010

REC-003253active

0 JAGUAR XF 3.0L

The fuel transfer tube inside the fuel tank has been incorrectly designed which can lead to the fuel transfer pipe becoming either kinked sufficiently to prevent fuel flow, or inserted too far into the fuel delivery module which could restrict the flow. Under certain driving conditions the vehicle will suffer fuel starvation whilst showing a fuel level (<1/4) still available on the gauge. Power Assisted Steering will be lost once the vehicle drops below the torque converter speed lock-up threshold however the mechanical steering will remain functional with some increase in the steering effort required. Brake vacuum reservoir replenishment will also be lost once the convertor speed lock up threshold is reached, at this point depending upon brake use the vehicle will lose power assistance, however the brakes will remain functional with some increase in pedal effort. A restart will not be possible until the vehicle has been refueled.

Light Vehicle

17 Nov 2009

REC-003239active

0 JAGUAR XF

A concern has been identified on the affected vehicles whereby the in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated following a vehicle start up cycle. As a result, it is possible that the engine may cut out whilst driving at a steady state cruising speed and the engine may not be able to be instantly re-started. It is possible that the vehicle may be restarted by cranking the engine for approximately 20 to 30 seconds duration.

Light Vehicle

6 Oct 2009

REC-003211active

0 JAGUAR XJ

A concern has been identified with corrosion to brake pipes at the junction between the twin under floor pipes and the rear cross member pipes fitted to 2003 and certain 2004 MJ XJ vehicles. A review of vehicle build shows that a touch condition can exist between the under floor brake pipes and the Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH) pad at the rear of the under floor under tray. Where a touch condition exists, water and dirt can collect and be held in contact with the pipes and their unions reducing the corrosion life of the pipes accordingly. In these cases the corrosion can lead to loss of the mechanical integrity of one or both pipes. This can result in extended brake pedal travel combined with reduced braking performance in the corresponding circuit, and simultaneous display of the 'fluid level low' warning light. In the event of both pipes losing integrity at the same time, complete loss of service brakes will occur.

Light Vehicle

6 July 2009

REC-003160active

0 JAGUAR XF

A concern has been identified with the instrument cluster speaker that provides some of the audible warnings on certain vehicles identified within the above range. The speaker wires may fracture as a consequence of an overly aggressive tick tock sound wave form, the volume of which is vehicle speed dependent. At higher speed the wave form has an amplitude tht aggravates the condition where the speaker wire could fail. It is therefore possible that, through normal use, over time the speaker will cease to operate. The following audible notifications are impacted. Turner indicator, seat belt warning, lights warning driver door open, driver intervene (adaptive cruise control vehicles only) and seat memory.

Light Vehicle

2 Dec 2008

REC-003132active

0 JAGUAR XF

A concern has been identified with the fitting process used in vehicle manufacture in relation to both rear seat belt D-loops on a number of 2009MY Jaguar XF vehicles. A minority of vehicles built up until VIN R22438 may have had seat belt D-loops fitted where the D-loops may not freely rotate. The seat belt may not run freely when the rear seat belts are being pulled out and, should a vehicle suffer a moderate to heavy frontal impact, the rear seat occupants may not be fully restrained.
