A concern has been identified on the affected vehicles whereby the in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated following a vehicle start up cycle. As a result, it is possible that the engine may cut out whilst driving at a steady state cruising speed and the engine may not be able to be instantly re-started. It is possible that the vehicle may be restarted by cranking the engine for approximately 20 to 30 seconds duration.

A concern has been identified with the instrument cluster speaker that provides some of the audible warnings on certain vehicles identified within the above range. The speaker wires may fracture as a consequence of an overly aggressive tick tock sound wave form, the volume of which is vehicle speed dependent. At higher speed the wave form has an amplitude tht aggravates the condition where the speaker wire could fail. It is therefore possible that, through normal use, over time the speaker will cease to operate. The following audible notifications are impacted. Turner indicator, seat belt warning, lights warning driver door open, driver intervene (adaptive cruise control vehicles only) and seat memory.

A concern has been identified with the fitting process used in vehicle manufacture in relation to both rear seat belt D-loops on a number of 2009MY Jaguar XF vehicles. A minority of vehicles built up until VIN R22438 may have had seat belt D-loops fitted where the D-loops may not freely rotate. The seat belt may not run freely when the rear seat belts are being pulled out and, should a vehicle suffer a moderate to heavy frontal impact, the rear seat occupants may not be fully restrained.
